Introduction to the application and construction of steel strands for bridges


  With economic development, road expansion projects are constantly springing up, and bridge construction is an important part of this. However, the application of steel wire is indispensable in bridge construction. Compared with steel bars, steel wire strands are more flexible and are widely used in post-tensioned prestressed structures.

  Steel wire strands, simply put, are a material formed by twisting several steel wires together. Bridge steel wire strands are composed of multiple high-strength wires, and the stress is eliminated (stabilized) during processing, suitable for prestressed concrete or similar purposes. The main characteristics of bridge steel wire strands are high strength and excellent relaxation performance. New bridge construction, repair and reinforcement of concrete structures, and reconstruction are all suitable for these prestressed steel wire strands.

 Steel wire strands for bridges

  Prestressed steel wire strands are a new type of building material used for structural reinforcement and components in various prestressed concrete projects and buildings. They are widely used in the construction of bridges, highways, railways, geotechnical anchoring, slope protection, high-rise buildings, industrial plants, stadiums, large-scale facilities, hydropower stations, nuclear power plants, water conservancy projects, etc., especially in bridge construction.

  Currently, the utilization rate of steel wire strands in global road and bridge construction projects is 95%, while the domestic utilization rate is only 10%. From the current situation, the development prospects and application potential of prestressed bridge steel wire in China's bridge construction projects are broad.

  With economic development, road expansion projects are constantly emerging, and bridge construction is an important part of this. Today, let's talk about how to construct bridge steel wire strands.

  First, install the prestressed pipe. Use anchor plates, prestressed plastic corrugated pipes, etc., for the installation of the corrugated pipes, and determine the accurate position of the corrugated pipes during construction. Pour the top of the packing box or the support platform into the steel wire cutting area, and cut the steel wire with a four-wheeled saw.

  Secondly, the single-end tensioning method, the prestressing tendon anchor is fixed by the P-anchor. In order to ensure the construction quality of the P-anchor, the original materials are long when entering the site, and a caliper is used for size matching tests. The inspection includes the compression spring, the compression head, and the inspection of the complete steel wire strand after compression.

  Third, fix the nominal position of the anchor end anchor plate according to the P-anchor design drawings, which is completed by the root of the P-chain anchor and the pull anchor plate.

  Fourth, install the anchor ring. After the concrete pouring and maintenance are completed, start installing the anchor ring. After the jack is completed to the standard and the concrete reaches the design strength, start installing the jack for tensioning construction. Then carry out prestressed tensioning construction. Then seal the anchor. After the prestressed construction is completed, seal the end transverse steel bar bundle.
